Bitumen
The expertise of our company lies in offering optimum quality bitumen to our clients.
To be specific, Jey Oil Kenya Bitumen is a dense, highly viscous, petroleum-based hydrocarbon that has two types.
The first one is the natural one which is mostly available in deposits such as oil sands and pitch lakes and the other is the refined type obtained from the residue of the crude oil’s distillation.
In general, Bitumen contains other elements such as 2% Oxygen, 11% Hydrogen and 87% Carbon.
As mentioned above, this product is a hydrocarbon with high molecular weight including oil, resin, and asphaltene. The existence of 5 to 30% of asphaltene causes the hardness of bitumen.
Refineries produce Jey Oil Kenya Bitumen in two ways, as follow:
1) Straight Run
2) Air blowing through batch or continues process
Generally, Bitumen is suitable for roads construction and insulation, for either paving grade or roofing grade. This product has different grades and types according to different processes and reports of several physical tests, such as penetration test, viscosity test, flash point test, solubility test, softening point test, ductility test and some more.
Bitumen 60/70
60/70, just like other penetration grades, is produced through a blowing process in a refinery. Due to its medium air blowing and penetration, it is suitable for mild areas. It’s applicable in road constructions in Djibouti, Uganda, and Kenya market. As it is neither hard nor soft, it’s appropriate for a temperate climate. Besides, this grade is mainly used for pavement of roads suitable for commercial traffic.
Bitumen 80/100
80/100 grade is a semi-soft grade which is appropriate for cold regions. This grade is notably applicable in northern Africa especially Kenya,Tanzania, Mombasa, and Sudan market. Although this bitumen grade has great uses in many countries, it has a high rate of functions in East African countries such as Kenya and Tanzania.
Good to know that, Infinity Galaxy Company is proud to have the responsibility of exporting bitumen grade 80/100 to great costumers of these two countries. Keep in mind that having PVOC (Pre-Export Verification of Conformity) and GIS (Government and Institution Services) documents is mandatory for exporting grade 80/100 to Mombasa port of Kenya. Besides, the drums must have the specific marking approved by Mombasa customs in Kenya. Only SGS inspection is essential for the commodity entrance.
MC
Cutback bitumen medium curing, MC, is a chemical combination of asphalt cement and petroleum solvent. Moreover, MC bitumen grade is widely good for tack coats, fog seals, slurry seals, and stabilizers.
MC grades have a high prioritized place in the Kenya and Uganda markets. This bitumen grade is widely applied in many countries, especially East African countries such as Kenya and Tanzania. Infinity Galaxy has successfully exported MC30 and other MC grades monthly to eminent customers of these countries.
Important to say that, exporting MC 30 to Mombasa port of Kenya necessitates having PVOC (Pre-Export Verification of Conformity) and GIS (Government and Institution Services) documents, and the drums specific marking approved by Mombasa customs. On the contrary, for the export to other East African countries, PVOC and GIS are not necessary. Only the SGS inspection report is sufficient for the goods entrance.
In this case, Infinity Galaxy supplies Bitumen MC Grades in drums with 10 mm thickness to prevent any leakage.
